Greenwood District PACKING PARTY Set for October 29

Tdisaster responsehe Greenwood District Disaster Response Team is hosting a packing party on Saturday, October 29, beginning at 9:00 a.m., at the District Office, 1633 Rivers St., Greenwood, to fill cleaning kits (aka flood buckets) for the victims of Hurricane Matthew. Churches and individuals in the Greenwood District have contributed over $8000 for flood relief in the wake of Matthew.

We want to give a shout-out to Lowe’s of Greenwood for their generosity in assisting us with the purchasing of the buckets and all the materials needed to fill the empty containers. All materials will be delivered on pallets on Friday afternoon in preparation for the “party” on Saturday morning.

Everyone is invited to come join the fun.

If you or your church would like to contribute toward flood relief efforts, you may send your contributions to the Greenwood District Office, PO Box 49968, Greenwood, SC 29649. Make checks payable to the Greenwood District and note in the Item Line Flood Relief. All money sent to the Greenwood District will be used for flood relief in SC. You may also contribute online for general flood relief efforts in SC. General flood relief contributions may be made to UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) online.
