Advisory Response Forms Are Due


The Pastor and the PPRC Advisory Response Forms are due in the district office no later than December 15.

Letters with the Advisory Response Forms were mailed to all appointed pastors and to all PPRC chairs in November.

Completed forms may be mailed to the Greenwood District Office; faxed (864-223-4099); or emailed (gwdist@umcsc.org). If the form is faxed or sent via email, it is not necessary to send a hard copy via the USPS.

Keeping Your Pastor and Your Congregation Happy!

The purpose of this training is to provide an overview of PPRC responsibilities for pastor and staff support and as liaison between pastor/staff and the congregation. One of the topics to be discussed is pastoral/staff salaries for 2016. Please share this information with your committee members since they should also attend this training.

Basic Church Administration Workshop

Pastchurch administrationor Robert Cox will present the seminar “Basic Church Administration,” Saturday, May 16th, at 9:30 am, at Northside United Methodist Church, 435 Summit Dr. Greenville, South Carolina 29609.

The seminar covers the documents that churches are required to keep by the United Methodist Church, and by various governmental agencies. Most of this material is not covered or taught in seminary or church leadership workshops. These records pertain to membership, contributions, finances, personnel, and legal documents.

Persons who should attend include:

  • Church secretaries
  • Membership secretaries
  • Financial Secretaries
  • Treasurers
  • Chairs and members of the SPRC
  • Chairs and members of the Board of Trustees
  • Pastors
  • Church business administrators

The cost of the seminar is $25, and Includes lunch, refreshments, and all materials including a notebook full of material to take back to the local church. The fee may be paid at the door. Please make checks payable to: Basic Church Administration.
