We will gather in Asbury Hall, Wesley Commons, 1110 Marshall Rd., Greenwood, at 6:30 p.m. for dinner and a time of fellowship, recognitions, celebration, and farewells.This is a special time in our district, since our District Superintendent and his wife, Rev. and Mrs. James Friday (Debra), will be moving to a new appointment next month.

Guests of the district are those pastors and their spouses who will be moving to new appointments in other districts or extension ministries and those pastors and their spouses who will be retiring at this year’s Annual Conference. Main Street United Methodist Church, a 1000 member church, in downtown Greenwood, SC, is seeking a proven, self-motivated, energetic and faith-driven individual with the skills to restructure and advance the children and youth programs. The successful individual will primarily lead the youth in stimulating weekly programs as well as oversee the children’s ministry. This individual will engage in young family recruitment, volunteer mission outreach, solicit volunteers, and in the development of community-based networks. The position will require the creation and successful execution of a three-year plan designed to establish a well-recognized children and youth ministry.
- Three years experience in church ministry
- A working knowledge of the Methodist faith
- Four- year college degree (masters a plus)
- Provide a minimum of three references (at least two professional)
