Clergy Session for Annual Conference 2020 Will Meet on August 1

The Conference announced today that the Clergy Session originally scheduled for August 1 will take place as scheduled, beginning at 9:00 a.m.. However, the session will be held virtually. Details will be sent directly to all eligible clergy.

In the meantime to ensure everyone is up-to-speed in accessing online meetings, the Conference is offering two virtual training sessions:  July 23 (10 a.m.) and July 24 (2 p.m.).

Annual Conference 2020 POSTPONED

The announcement was made this morning, July 10, that due to the continuing rise of COVID-19 infections, Annual Conference has been postponed. Full details are on the Conference website: https://www.umcsc.org/2020-south-carolina-annual-conference-postponed/

The Clergy Session will convene virtually on August 1 at 9:00 a.m. The Ordination and Commissioning Service will still take place on August 8 but will be at St. John’s UMC in Aiken.

  • Virtual Clergy Session (August 1 | 9 a.m.) – To ensure that all are prepared technologically, clergy are encouraged to participate in one of two virtual training sessions – scheduled for July 23 (10 a.m.) and July 24 (2 p.m.). Eligible clergy will be notified directly about details.
  • Service of Commissioning and Ordination (August 8 | 2 p.m.) – The service will take place at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Aiken. Attendance will be restricted to candidates for commissioning and ordination and a limited number of their guests. Candidates will be notified directly about details. Others can watch the live-stream, which will be available via a link at umcsc.org.
